How Do LED Lights Work

An LED, or “Light Emitting Diode” is specific type of diode that is optimized to give off light as electricity passes through it. We’ll get into that in more detail – but for now, all you need to know is that LEDs are amazing. LEDs are ultimately just tiny lightbulbs that can easily fit into an electrical circuit – and they take up less space than typical incandescent bulbs. You sometimes have to use more together to create as much light as a traditional bulb (think electrical panels) but you only use a fraction of the energy. (more…)
